LI: To identify the author's purpose.  

This week for Reading we learnt about author's purpose. Authors write for a purpose/reason. These reasons are to Persuade, Inform, Explain or Entertain (PIE).

We looked at Kiwi Kids News, Kea Kidz, NZ Herald and Radio NZ to find articles to match the purpose we were searching for. We then created a new map in Google my maps, plotted the event on a map, added the link to the article, added the author’s purpose, an image and sumarised the information.


I found this activity fun because i learn some new country  

Ballad Poem: Charlotte Anne

LI: To understand the story in a ballad poem

This week for reading we have been focusing on a ballad poem based on a story about Charlotte Anne. A ballad poem is a long poem that tells a story. We unpacked the story help us make a connection to what was happening, wrote a summary and looked at the two different opinions of how women were expected to live at the time. Charlotte Anne didn’t agree with these strict rules and was often talked about because she chose to do a mans job.

This activity was intreseting for me because i learn lots of facts about the 1870s.

Vision board

LI: To set and visualise our goals for 2022



A vision board helps us to visualise our goals and what we want to achieve. This is a part of our Careers learning as we know we will need to be setting goals to help us achieve the career goals we want to achieve in the future.

Cinquain poem

LI:To write a cinquain poem to describe a leader who inspires you

This term we have been building our leadership skills. Our challenge today was to write a cinquain poemto help us strengthen our connections to description that describes leaders who inspire us.

A cinquain poem has 5 lines. Each line has a different purpose. Line 1 is a noun which is a name. Line 2 has 2 adjectives that describe the noun. Line 3 has 3 verbs that end in ‘ing’ and describe the actions. Line 4 is a noun phrase which is a group of words (not a sentence) that go together to describe the noun. Line 5 is a synonym which is a word with a similar meaning to the noun.

Today for summer learning journey we dida geomerty art. We draw or use google draw to make geomerty tree when we finished drawing our geomerty tree we colour the whole thing.

Summer Learning Journey | Vector Art

 Vector art was the third activity that I have done. To create these images it uses lines, curves, and polygons to create the image. When people create this art is doesn't looks the focus/quality of the image, if people zoom in. 

My hero is stan lee he inspired me to watch all his movies. He is the person made marvel and other character. The reason i choose him because i watch lots of superhero movies and i read his comics.

i enjoy this activity it inspired me to watch stan lee movies.

Summer learning journey Art coloring book

 For Summer learnign journey we did a art coloring book - NASA edtion. Were to colour a picture that involved space and spaceship. I enjoyed this activity because i enjoy colouring 

Own Design Character Profile

LI: To create a character profile

Our challenge was to design our own anime/manga character. Our next challenge was to draw the character on our chromebooks or on paper. I chose to draw my character on google draw because it was easy.

Our final challenge was to write a paragraph that describes our character.

I enjoyed this because i learn how to desing my own character.

Character Excitement Chart

This week we did our anime about Character Excitement Chart. The Character Excitement Chart was about the action and emotions of your 6 sentences story. For example Sad because kirby only has one friend.

This week we did list poem a list poem is listing things and trying to do it in an exciting way.

Setting

 

This week we made anime map about desinging our own anime character 

First i added the character kirby,bad kirby and gooey. Then i added trees around the map so it looks realicst. Lastest i added house, kirby house and the village.

This activity was fun because i now know hot to desing objects.

Manga Comic

LI: To illustrate our writing in the style of anime/manga

Our challenge today was to turn the events in our 6 sentence stories into a manga comic strip. I collaborated with no one which I enjoyed because i desing my own anime.

Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to create a DLO in our own words that tells us about the life of our favourite manga artist or a well known manga artist.

Our challenge today was to complete a reading comprehension about the history of Manga to show that we are reading for meaning and understanding. Our final challenge in this activity was to create a DLO to share the information we found out.

A fact I found interesting is was because the first anime was astro boy

Animation

 This week i did an three second animation for are anime or manga work. 

I did a kirby animation.

Summary Customised Shoes

LI: To explain in fewer words what the text is about.

Are challenge was about create a summary about a artist creating custom shoes we write 20 word about the article,We choose 6 imporatant and make a sentences about the words we pick. Lastly the fun activity we did is to customise our own shoes on a DLO.
