LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp
I was feeling scared to go up the high beam. My legs were shaking and my heart was beating. I put my leg on the ladder. I was sweating tearsdrop, at least I think it was sweat and not tears but I was so scared but I didn’t care. Each step I climbed on the ladder was faster than the one before, like I was the flash.
My team encouraged me which made me feel confident and I knew I could keep climbing up. I got to the top and feel like I'm at the sky tower. I took one step each time and ran to hug the pole like it was my best friend. Then I had to turn around and go to the middle and dance. I was scared and excited at the same time.
I thought I had conquered the high beam then realised I had to go down. Can I do this? Can I lean back and trust the rope holders? I leant back and I went down like mary poppins and surprisingly I wasn't scared at all. Excitement flashed through me as soon as I touched the ground.
I had done it! I had beaten the high beam. I have achieved confidence to go on the high beam.
Hi Carson
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous recount of your journey up and down the high beam Carson! I loved the pictures you painted in my mind as I could imagine exactly how you were feeling. Now that you have beaten the high beam would you do the challenge again?
